Now let them say that Men Only has no artistic merit! As far as I know there's no law against gratuitous culture. And I don't suppose Bill Shakespeare will mind me murdering his immortal lines. In fact, if Bill were around today he'd very likely be one of the growing band of illustrious Men Only contributors. To get to the point, we have finally, and with a very good grace, given in to the pressures of public opinion. Throughout this last year we've received a constant stream of letters asking when Fiona was going to appear in the splendour of her perfect nudity. Well it's now! Many people seem to have missed the first fully-frontal Fiona when she appeared a couple of years back. Many weren't reading Men Only then, others weren't reading a men's magazine at all! We certainly seem to have changed a lot of things in our short history as a Paul Raymond publication. Since her last appearance Fiona has gained a great deal of fame, and not a little notoriety, as an actress. Fame hasn't changed her at all. In fact, a great deal of the aforementioned pressure came from the lady herself. `But you know how I love being photographed in the nude', she replied when I tendered my first tentative request. The only regret I have about this session is that, weighed down by editorial cares, I wasn't able to shoot the set myself. Still, there are times when one has to sacrifice personal pleasure to the sort of quality and style that only a photographer like Michel Moreau can achieve. The combination of Michel's talent and Fiona's now world-famous figure awaits you on page fifty-three. If you're still with me, Fiona is only one of the varied delights before you. There's certainly plenty of everything in this issue. We interview Stratford Johns, a gentleman with strong opinions, many of which we feel Barlow might share. Like writing off Men Only as a load of salacious trash for example! We may not agree with him, but we'd give our lives to defend his right to say it. Provided of course he would go to similar extremes to defend our right to publish. If you can tear your eyes away from Fiona for a while you'll find Jack Izard and Sir John sampling the delights of our seaside resorts, by accident, he says. Karl Steiner untangles the web of mystery which surrounds sexual obsessions, Ann Summers bathes in the power of erotic scents and Modus Operandi enquires into those most memorable erotic experiences. Our motoring section features the Scimitar. The piece so impressed our Picture Editor that he bought one, went off on the razzle, and we haven't seen him since. If you run into him, which is quite likely from what I hear, send him back. We must have some pictures for the next issue. And talking of the next issue, don't miss it! It's the Christmas number and, as always, it's a rather special one. Aren't they all ? Tony Power
